Oncology treatments often cause undesirable side effects

Common oncology treatments, such as radiation and chemotherapy often cause undesirable side effects. Our first target, radiation-induced dermatitis, affects up to 95% of breast cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy. About a third will progress to severe stages, which require a pause in the radiation therapy. Currently, there is no gold standard for the treatment of radiation dermatitis, there are no prediction tools and patients are provided only with supportive care.

We believe the key for better supportive care is prediction. By integrating the patients’ personal characteristics, medical history and skin microbiome signature, our innovative AI-based solution, RadiaApp, can calculate the individual risk score to experience side effects. This data can be further translated into personalized recommendations for a preventive treatment plan that will best prepare the patient's skin to provide the optimal healing environment.
